Control questions

You must give an answer to 5 questions at the beginning of the laboratory exercise. One wrong answer will make the mark given to the measuring with one grade worse. Two or more wrong answers will result a supplementary measuring! You will not find any answers in the aid for questions with subject of circuit diagrams! We would like to learn about the creative abilities of students here.

  1. Which kind of information can an interface specification contain?
  2. Give the build-up of the interface testers, and their most important characteristics!
  3. Give the operation principle of the phase jitter measurer!
  4. Draw a low-pass and high-pass filter circuit with a variable boundary frequency which can be used even in a phase jitter measurer!
  5. Draw the block scheme of a PLL! Can the PLL be used for clock recovery?
  6. What can mark the beginning of a frame in an E1 time frame?
  7. What is the criterion of the FAS frame synch outage and restoration in case of PCM framing?
  8. Review the basic maintenance signals which can occur on the E1, STM-1, or GBE interfaces!
  9. Review the build-up of the STM-1 frame!
  10. How many percent of the payload is the overhead in the STM-1 frame in the case of VC-12 multiplexing?
