You must give an answer to 5 questions at the beginning of the laboratory exercise. One wrong answer will make the mark given to the measuring with one grade worse. Two or more wrong answers will result a supplementary measuring!

  1. What kind of tasks have to be solved on the laboratory exercise?
  2. Review the main elements of the network used at the measurement, and their main tasks!
  3. Explain the difference between the ADSL over ISDN and the ADSL over POTS!
  4. Review the main parameters of the ADSL line layer!
  5. On what kind of elements of the protocol stack have any effects of the following parameters: mode (g.dmt, adsl2, auto)?
  6. On what kind of elements of the protocol stack have any effects of the following parameters: VPI, VCI?
    On which two layers' boundary of the protocol stack can the procedures of the RFC 1483 be applied?
  7. In what speed and with what range can the WLAN APs operate? What is the relation between this two issues?
  8. What are the advantages and drawbacks of WLAN networks compared to the wired networks? Enumerate 3-3 of the advantages and the drawbacks!
  9. What kind of frequency range can we use for transmission in case of different WLAN-standards?
  10. What type of wireless architectures can we distinguish? Characterize them shortly!
  11. What kind of methods do you know for an access to a common radio medium?
  12. What is the SS and the BSS? From what can we derive their identifiers (SSID and BSSID)?
  13. What possibilities do you know according to the protection of WLAN networks against the illegal accesses?
  14. What do RADIUS, WEP, WPA acronyms mean? What are the weaknesses of the WEP?
  15. What the MAC ID filtering is used for, and how can it be vulnerable?
  16. What does it mean, if it is able to operate an ADSL modem as a router, or as a bridge?
  17. What can a VLAN be used for? Where can we use this technology in the measuring arrangement? How many parameters can a VLAN-tag contain, and what are they?
  18. What can a PPP be used for? What kind of services does this protocol have?
  19. Review the parts of the PPP!

  21. How can we fit the message packets of the PPP protocol to the ATM AAL5 and Ethernet frames?
  22. What can the NAT be used for, and where can it be used in the measurement compilation?
  23. What is the similarity between the ARP and the NAT?
  24. What can the DHCP be used for, and where can it be used in the measuring arrangement?
