Interface testers - Siemens K4305 interface tester

Introduction

Siemens K4305 is an interface tester, which has the following main measuring interfaces:

ITU-T G.703 2048 kbit/s (PCM interface)
ITU-T G.703 64 kbit/s codirectional interface
ITU-T V.11 interface (1,2 kbit/s ... 2048 kbit/s)

We can execute measurement with the help of the interface tester in the following operation modes:

2M_MONITOR (PCM connection monitoring. Error rate measurement with a frame synchronous signal. HDB3 code errors, counting of CRC errors. Alarm indication. Measurement of peak code, signal level, frequency in speech channels. Listening possibility in speech channels)

DROP_INSERT (PCM signal given out by the equipment derives from either the received PCM signal, or it is generated by the equipment itself. The content of one or more timeslots can be dropped from the received PCM signal, and can be forwarded either to V.11 or 64k interfaces, or to the built-in digital signal receiver. Either signal of the built-in digital signal generator, or V.11 or 64k interfaces, can be inserted into the digital signal flow in transmitting direction.)
DROP_REPEAT - Regenerator operation mode. Equipment can give out the received PCM signal regenerated on the output connector. The "drop" function can operate in this operation mode, too.
MUX/DEMUX_TESTER - Generation and reception of the measuring signal will happen on different interfaces.
UNFRAMED - Transmission and reception of unframed measuring signals.

After switching on the main menu appears on the built-in display, which contains the operation modes mentioned above. We can move in the menu with arrow buttons. We can enter to the submenu belonging to the chosen menu element with pressing ENTER button. We can move forward in the menu system with the MENU button. We can start/stop measurement with the START/STOP button.
