Two DEFINITY exchanges of test networkwere given by AT&T Hungary, predecessor of AVAYA in 1993 to TTT, which was predecessor of TMIT.
Exchanges are located in laboratories B.211 and B.212, and they work constantly:

The exchange is able to serve 16 - 240 lines, depending on the configuration. Its main application field is to provide telecommunication services for offices, institutes, hotels.

Switching of lines is made by a digital switching field operating by the principle of fixed time division. Connection of lines to the switching fields is provided by wide range of periphery adapters. Control of the switching field is made by a built-in computer on the basis of programs stored in the computer. Control with a stored program realizes numerous flexible services, that can be programmed by the user (call holding, call redirection, automatic recalling).
