Telecommunication test network - which provides multimedia services - has been built
on the basis of PSTN,
ISDN, VoIP, MSSN,
xDSL, and GPON network models. The telecommunication test network contains subnetworks, and this network
on the whole is a kind of mixture of real (used in practice) switching and transmission
equipments, transmission routes, and terminal equipments connected to them. Individual
elements of this network can connect to each other through the standard access points of
the telecommunication hierarchy.
Draft of a realized telecommunication test network can be seen on the following figure:

The test network can be divided to several subnetworks, which are in connection with each
other. These are the following:
- PSTN, ISDN, VoIP NET - telephone and ISDN network, the oldest subnetwork of the test network
- H323 VoIP SUBNET - telephone network based on VoIP, according to the H.323 standard
- MSSN - MultiService Switching Network - a network containing MSS nodes (Multiservice Switching System ) (under construction)
- xDSL SUBNET - a network containing digital subscriber transmission systems (ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, SDSL, SHDSL)
- GPON - a network containing optical subscriber transmission systems

Main terminal equipments in the telecommunication test network:
Main broadband interfaces connecting subnetworks of the test network with each other:
- E1 - primary rate (2 Mbit/s) interface (link)
- ISDN PRI - ISDN primary rate (2 Mbit/s) interface (link)
- 100BASE-T - broadband (100 Mbit/s) LAN interface
- 1000BASE-T - broadband (1000 Mbit/s) LAN interface
- STM-1 - optical interface with the rate of 155 Mbit/s
- ADSL - (8 Mbit/s) ADSL interface
- gpon - (2488 Mbit/s) GPON interface
