• Access code - extension of concept of dialing number, access code (service, dialing number, route controller, etc.)
• ADID - Analog Direct Inward Dial
• Answer DN - Dialing number of "B" device assigned to "A" device. A call arriving to "B" device will also occur on "A" device.
• Application - 1. An application requisiting resources of the exchange (devices, trunks...).
  2. Available "extra" services (e.g voice mail, call-center, call-detail-recording, etc.)
• auto-answer trunk - a trunk with a capability of giving an automatic answer, like for example DID, PRI and VoIP trunk

• bus - an internal virtual bus, to which the module is connected

• Call-by-Call Service - a North-American PRI

• Destination code - An (access) code for the routing
• DID - Direct Inward Dial

• Direct dial - Dialing to a phone by dialing only 1 digit (eg. reception)

• DISA - Direct Inward System Access - extension of the auto answer trunk with password. Calling person hears a "stammering" dial sound, and then he/she must write in a CoS password, that determines the access to the exchange.

  The directory number is the primary identifier of the device records
  The length of the directory number and the initial dialing number is the start-up parameter of the exchange.
• DTM - Digital Trunk Module (MBM). Its fuction: connecting the digital public circuit-switched telephone lines (T1, E1, ISDN-PRI) to the exchange.

• Hospitality services - Telephone services, that can be deployed to hotels, hospitals. Devices deployed to the rooms have low service capabilities, e.g. external line is available only through the operator. Besides, there is a possibility for waking and room status registration services, too.
• Hunt group - A group used by Contact Center application
• Hunt Group DN - Directory number of the hunt group
• ICCL - ISDN Call Connection Limitation
• intercom - internal virtual channel for data transmission
• Internal DN - Internal (within the exchange) directory number
• KIM - Key Indicator Modules - an extension of CAP

• location - location of the module: internal/expansion

• MBM Media Bay Module - A changeable case of the expansion unit (pl: DTM)

• module - a collective noun of interfaces of the central telephone and trunk interfaces

• OLI - outgoing line identification - Displaying of the calling person's DN on the called device

• pretranslation - selection on the basis of the first digit of the dialing number -> Extension services
• PRI - Primary Rate Interface (ISDN)

• Resource - this expression is used for the (hardware and software) elements of the exchange in the documentation of the exchange.
  Example: Name of an ISDN-PRI interface is here: "Telephony resource module (DTM-PRI)". It means the ISDN-PRI card in Definity exchange.
